I love to watch old movies, and recently discovered this gem. The story is hilarious, and it was funny to see so many big actors in one movie. It is a 2 1/2 hour long mad cap, cross country adventure. If you like old comedies (like Arsenic and Old Lace) you will probably enjoy it. I had never heard of it until recently, and good movies are so few I thought that I would share.
It has everyone in it: Spencer Tracy (Adam's Rib, Father of the Bride) Ron Howard (Opie on Andy Griffith) Buddy Hacket (The Love Bug, Little Mermaid) Mickey Rooney (Pete's Dragon, Night at the Museum) Dorothy Provine (That Darn Cat) Eddie Anderson (Gone with the Wind, Topper Returns) Jim Backus (Gilligan's Island) William Demarest (My Three Sons, That Darn Cat) Andy Devine (Friar Tuck in Robin Hood) Peter Faulk (Columbo) Don Knotts (Andy Griffith, Three's Company, Disney Movies) Jimmy Durante (Frosty the Snowman) Charles Lane (Gnome Mobile, Ghost and Mr Chicken, Petticoat Junction) Sterling Holloway (voice of Winnie the Pooh, and several other animated disney characters) Edward Horton (Top Hat, Arsenic and Old Lace) Jerry Lewis and a bunch of other actors that were popular at that time.
